Could you imagine being stuck on a ship in the middle of the Indian Ocean for six months? How about living in a tent in the Sahara desert for a year? Maybe not seeing the birth of your child or their first steps? These are things that the men and women of the armed forces face everyday. Let us remember that Veteran’s Day is not just another day off. The day is to commemorate and honor the people who serve to defend our country. Many have given their lives for the cause of freedom. I am fortunate to have several family members who served their country proudly. Thankfully we have never lost a family member to combat. I could not imagine that loss and hope to never experience tragedy on that level. So in addition to your thankful list(yes, you should be working on it), let’s remember to thank our veterans. They deserve it and we certainly should appreciate their sacrifices. THANK YOU!
